Hello, this is my No Scratches mod!
This mod is aimed at people (like me) who hate seeing scratches on their vehicles!
**This mod requires editing of files in the update.rpf. You WILL get banned if using this online!**
Features:
- Prevents you from scratching your vehicle on anything!
- Doesn't (yet) prevent heavy scratches appearing from dents. This will only appear if you crash into something at high speed.
- Doesn't block blood splatters from appearing. (will include this if people want)
Installation Instructions:
1. Install and open OpenIV - link: http://openiv.com/
2. Go into the folders: update > update.rpf > common > data > effects
3. Enable 'Edit Mode'.
4. Right-click the 'decals.dat' file and click replace.
5. Locate DrZepto's No Scratches decals.dat file and choose to replace with that.
6. Click 'File', 'Rebuild' and choose the 'Rebuild' option in the bottom right.
7. Once it's rebuilt the update.rpf, close OpenIV, launch the game and have fun without scratching your precious vehicles!

is this for only player vehicle? or all vehicles?

I just realized that they both use the decals.dat file, does your No Dirt Mod include the modified lines for this mod as well? If not would you mind posting which lines you edited in your No Dirt mod so that I can add it to this one?
i would love to be able to apply this only to certain vehicles...

(i wouldn't mind him getting dirty, KITT can get dirty... but the dirt shows that stupid "ruiner" logo on the side... so... meh... either need to remove that logo somehow or use the no dirt mod at least until somebody makes an actual KITT car model, but that will take a few more days ;P )

Still don't understand why you get banned for having a mod that makes cars not have any scratches on them. Its like a add-on.

For Anyone wondering how to get rid of the other either dent or "scratch" even though its looks like both. Just open the Decal.dat with notepad and press control+F and type in Scrapes. Make sure to search down not up Once you have done that go up a little till you see "fxdecal_bangs" Not bullet bangs or anything like that. Scroll right and you should see "size" a little bit along. Just change the "fxdecal_bangs" texture size to 0.0. Then you will never see that wierd and frankly bad attempt of a dent texture again.
