Description:
Obstruction-Free First-Person is a simple mod for GTA V that removes hats, glasses, and other accessories in first-person view to prevent them from obstructing the player's line of sight. While Rockstar has designed first-person filters for main protagonists (like Michael, Trevor, and Franklin) as well as online protagonists (mp m freemode 01 and mp f freemode 01), they did not design similar filters for non-protagonist NPC models. As a result, accessories on NPCs can obstruct the player's view in first-person mode, ruining the first-person experience.
Features:
- Removes hats, glasses, and other accessories in first-person mode for NPC models (non-protagonists).
- Restores accessories when switching back to third-person view.
- Includes a configurable option (introduced in version 0.2): ApplyToProtagonists = false (in the ObstructionFreeFirstPerson.ini file). By default, the mod does not affect protagonists (Michael, Trevor, Franklin, or online characters). To enable the mod's functionality for them, set ApplyToProtagonists = true.
Requirements:
- Community Script Hook V .NET (SHVDN) v3.6.0.139 or newer
- Script Hook V v1.0.3351.0 or newer (by Alexander Blade)
- .NET Framework 4.8 or newer (commonly pre-installed)
- Visual C-plus-plus Redistributable for Visual Studio 2019 x64 (commonly pre-installed)
Installation:
- Extract all files from the rar archive to the scripts folder in your game directory.
- If the scripts folder doesn't exist, create it.
Changelog:
* Version 0.3
- Fixed an issue where, despite the mod being active, the player would still equip a helmet when riding a motorcycle in first-person mode.
* Version 0.2
- Added the ApplyToProtagonists configuration option in the ObstructionFreeFirstPerson.ini file.
* Version 0.1
- Initial Release.

chance to work with fivem?
Nice. This is what bothers me when going in first person.
is there a version for protagonist??
I always use the RPH of a similar mod! Now this is perfect! 5 stars!
We appreciate you!!
@wvssuptokyo Thanks for your suggestion! I’ve actually added an option to enable the mod for protagonists (Michael, Trevor, Franklin, and online characters). The update is currently awaiting review from the administrator, but it should be available soon.
@lilifee Thanks for your question! Currently, this mod is designed for single-player use in GTA V. I’m not sure about compatibility with FiveM, but I may explore that in the future.
@MarcusStone @William Halverd @SelfRayRayBusiness Thank you all! I really appreciate your support—it means a lot to me! :)
@PedPal Thx alot !!
@PedPal I was just thinking about having a script like this. Thank you for uploading this. It does have a couple bugs with the biggest to me being this kinda doesn't work in vehicles, at least motorcycles. If in a vehicle and I switch to FP, the obstructions are still present. Otherwise this is amazing
@N. Man Thanks for the feedback! I’ll look into this and get a fix out as soon as possible.
I like playing lspdfr in first person but it annoys me when I wear glasses or hats but with this mod I can now I can play in first person without glasses or hats in my way
@PedPal What does it mean Model = 225514697 in the ini file? What NPC is that? Where can I find other NPC model IDs? The only ones I found in Google (hash codes) have different format
@PedPal, nevermind, I found out it's Michael. So I changed it to a different one (hc_gunman, 193469166), set everything to -1, and I can still see all the parts, so it just doesn't work at all. Any solution?
@EddiePulaski Thanks for your feedback! Just to clarify, when you use the mod, does it not work for all models, or is it specifically an issue with 'hc_gunman'? Let me know so I can better assist you!
Also, in the ini file, aside from 'ApplyToProtagonists', there’s no need to modify anything.
@PedPal thanks for the reply. So what I'm trying to do is, making the whole NPC player model (not just glasses or other props) invisible in first person. Sounds crazy, but there is no mod that does this. There is an option in Simple Trainer that makes the player invisible but not just in first person and you have to toggle it on and off every time. I just think that if we can hide glasses, hats etc in first person, then we can do the same with head, upper body, hands and so on. Right? Oh yeah, and editing the first_person_alternates.meta by adding a character's body parts and setting them all to -1 doesn't work either. I tried.
@EddiePulaski Thanks for explaining! I see what you’re aiming for now—making the entire NPC model invisible in first person. I’ll try to implement this in the next version.
