And of course almost as soon as I post that, ScriptHookV updated to fix the controls issue. Our installer has now been updated to enforce both the new ScriptHookV and the latest ScriptHookVDotNet to avoid both issues. There is still technically one issue remaining on ScriptHookVDotNet's end relating to spawning certain props, but it is not nearly as mod-breaking as the controls or the crashing.
@jpnman This is due to bugs in ScriptHookV and ScriptHookVDotNet when used with GTAV v3717 and v3725. They are all known issues. You can work around the crash by updating ScriptHookVDotNet to ScriptHookVDotNet Nightly 79 or later. The controls bug however you will need to wait for those developers to update their tools to fix it. Neither the crashing nor the controls issue is BTTFV's bug.
@MichaelRobinson There are several issues with ScriptHookVDotNet and GTAV 3717 at the moment. Most pressing is that starting at control Attack2 there are 37 new controls added in this version, which affects especially controls like those relating to the hydraulics, and controls related to vehicle transformations (both of which the DeLorean in BTTFV use).
I haven't seen any issues related to programming the time circuits, however. Make sure you have Input Mode turned off as it tends to cause confusion for people (and straight up doesn't work for anyone whose keyboard lacks a numpad).
Correct, we do not recommend attempting to install BTTFV and its dependencies manually because most people mess it up. Plus that due to a recent change in how gameconfig.xml works in GTAV Legacy, the OIV file alone will not install (as you discovered).
If you use our installer instead, it will handle all of the dependencies automatically, plus update all the requisite files (like trains.xml), plus apply a few additional fixes (for example, fixing an issue that cropped up a few years ago where the headlight and taillight coronas were glitching).
If you check out the videos in the description above, you'll see one that says "Official Installation Tutorial," and it walks you through using our installer. This is the only recommended way of installing BTTFV. Enjoy!
@Seatleon05 The mod works perfectly fine on GTAV Legacy and has for years.
@mitchfaugot "It keeps failing" doesn't give me much to go on. You will have to be more specific about what error message or other symptoms you are getting. I highly recommend you join the BTTFV Discord and ask for help in the #support channel if you have not already, you will get much faster help.
@randommodding The solution is to use our automated installer rather than trying to install the OIV manually. That video in the gallery above with the thumbnail "Back to the Future V Official Installation Tutorial" is the one you want. Also feel free to join the BTTFV Discord if you need further assistance as it is faster and easier to provide support that way.
@mitchfaugot Use the automated installer rather than trying to install things manually. In case you're not aware of what that is, click the video with the thumbnail "Back to the Future V Official Installation Tutorial" listed above and follow along.
@Rosario Fiume BTTFV is open source and the models are derived from Forza. Have fun.
@Darkneumann That could be caused by a lot of things, but a script crash is always logged in the ScriptHookVDotNet.log file. I highly suggest joining our Discord and asking about this in the support channel as it would be much faster to diagnose your issue that way than the multiple-day-lag back-and-forth of this comments section.
@MindDemosn It should work with Rage Plugin Hook and ScriptHookVDotNet Nightly, but it has not been tested with LSPDFR.
@takbz That is also because you are using Enhanced Native Trainer. Please use Menyoo 2.0 if you must use a trainer.
