Railroad Engineer
Railroad Engineer is an extension for Grand Theft Auto V to control trains and trams.

Features
- NEW derailment for passing trains (trains can be stopped) ➔ video
- NEW derailment due to collisions ➔ video
- NEW derailment due to weapons fire
- NEW enter train optimized
- NEW continuous train horn
- NEW option to disable the controls on passenger seat
- drive the train or the tram
- easy access (optional realistic entrance)
- realistic and nonlinear acceleration/braking
- open/close doors (animated)
- radio
- change seat in freight train
- derailment
- explosions and collisions with derailed trains ➔ video
- engineer commands (see below)
- displays (speed mph/kmh, derailment, damage, doors, distance)
- ini-file (speed, acceleration, derailment and a lot more settings)
Installation
- Install Script Hook V
- Download Railroad Engineer 4.0 and copy the files to the main game folder
How to use
Wait for a train and hold [F] near the loco of the freight train or near the tram.
Controls
- [F] * enter/exit train
- [W] accelerate / brake (backwards)
- [S] brake / accelerate (backwards)
- [␣] brake
- [␣]+[S] hard brake
- [X] * derail manually
- [E] * horn
- [H] headlights
- [G] open/close doors
- [Q] radio
- [E] ** engineer command (freight train)
- [A], [D] change seat (freight train)
** engineer must be alive and inside the train
(for more details see the readme file)
Engineer Commands
Enter a freight train and do not kick out the engineer. Choose your desired command with [E]. Leave the cab with [F] and jump off the train. Now the engineer executes your command.
Hint: Engineer commands are not available if the engineer is dead or not inside the train.

Anyone have it working in FiveM?
@Jotrius I am still using walter's train mod and it works fine. But with railroad engineer mod I can only drive the trams. Any fix?

you have to set the model names of the new trains in the ini file
this is the first mod i ever downloaded for gta v, how do i do it i cant seem to find any tutorials?
Is there a way to disable the default train horn, it seems to be overlapping over the moded train horns.
Can a Xbox or a PlayStation controller work with this mod? if it can, can someone tell me the controls for it?
how to disable derailment?
@Jotrius Is it not working with some DLC trains??? I tried with Shinkansen E5 DLC train, the player is not getting into the train...Any workarounds?
@devdd960 buddy he said it just above, shinkansen uses its own freight car from its dlc pack, enter the name it uses as the freight car in the .ini file
I went to add the names for overhauled trains and kitsunetrains (as I have before) but they were already there. Nice.
funny thing when i installed it the trams got replaced by the cargo trains lol

I installed the mod but i was only able to drive the trams, is there anyway i can make this work with Kitsune Trains ?
@Awselot You probably know the answer by know but if anyone else needs too know here is how too make it compatible with overhauled trains:
1. Download and extract both mods
2. Install overhauled trains (The read me doesnt work anymore but there is an updated tutorial in the comments)
3. Install railroad engineer but dont put the .ini folder into the gta v main directory, inside the overhauled trains download there is a .ini file that makes them compatible and place that .ini file into the gta v main directory
4. Load gta v and hope that it worked
If you already have railroad engineer installed then just place the .ini file in the overhauled trains mod inside gta v and replace the old one you have.
Let me know anyone if this worked
